Panther Launcher: a quiet Android home screen

A personal fork of the open-source mLauncher. Text lists instead of icon grids, categories in the app drawer, freely scalable widgets, own themes. Built as a signed APK for own use; whatever is generally useful goes back to the main project as a proposal.

What is different

The home screen shows apps as a text list. The drawer groups by category. Widgets scale in grid steps. No ad feed, no outbound search.

Relation to the main project

This is not a distribution. It is a personal modification built as an APK for own use only. Anyone may fork and build it; issues and pull requests are not tracked in this fork.

House rules

Six sentences. Whoever does not stand behind them stays out.

§1

Anti-fascist. No room for authoritarian, nationalist or dehumanising positions.

§2

Anti-racist. Origin, skin colour, religion, residence status play no role.

§3

Anti-sexist. All genders as equals. Abuse leads to exclusion.

§4

Respect. Criticism of the work, not the person. Listening is part of it.

§5

Openness. What we build is documented and published.

§6

Reliability. Whoever takes a job reports back. Whoever gets stuck says so early.

And otherwise

No degree needed, but a field where you can show something: a board, a program, a repair, a piece of furniture.

Decisions are made by the collective, one vote per person. That holds today and becomes statute in the cooperative from seven people on.
